From the catalogue essay:

Change of Rules records a state of transition, a situation that can be associated with a specific place, in this case with post-Communist Lithuania. However, the exhibition and the works shown do not automatically refer to this place. They express their authors’ autonomous views and ultimately deal with the very notion of instability. In a state of change inconsistencies often emerge between images and their meanings, between forms and their functions. Change of Rules defines a state of dissatisfaction, but offers no evaluation of it. No new rules are formulated. Art, after all, is one of the peripheries of contemporary life, a self-reflective commentary on reality.
